Still trying to figure out a good way to make more regular mixes, now that my Life In Mixtape Form is on break. Have some ideas I’m bouncing around, but we’ll see. For now, I continue with some new music. Longer than I usually make these, I found a lot of good stuff this month, and fairly wide-ranging. This includes some of my all-time favorite artists, as well as a few others who will surely be my faves of this year at least.

New music. This mix was tough actually, hard to find a good order for it. Strange songs in there, but also some super terrific ones. 2013 has had a lot of great new music!

Though I’m trying not to listen to as much new music as I used to, in order to live with the stuff I find a little better, instead of just listening and moving on to the next thing quickly. That said, I can usually still find 8-9 new songs in a month worth sharing… so I can still do this mix!
- almostaghostNot my longest monthly mix by any means, only found 9 songs I wanted to drop. Have a good amount in the queue though for the upcoming month, and in fact outlook for 2013 is very high. Going to be a good music year for releases, I reckon.

Here is my monthly mix of new music from 2013. Looking ahead, there’s quite a few of my favorite artists putting stuff out this year, or expected to. So far there’s been a couple things I wanted to share, but not blown away by anything yet. Surely that will turn around soon.

Final monthly 2012 mix, before counting down my favorite albums of the year all December. I’m not going to write as much as I have in past years, and may just post some with minimal comment and a couple of tracks. But I’m sure I’ll have some thoughts on some of them too. So my top 31 albums of 2012 will be starting tomorrow, one a day all month.

A somewhat bizarre and eclectic mix of new 2012 music this month. Not sure how it ended up so, but it felt that way to me. There’s electronic instrumentals, rap, Dwight Yoakam, groovy stuff, quiet stuff.

My monthly mix of 2012 music–a week early because I’m going out of town. Fortunately, still a lot of good stuff I checked out, though I found this mix a little odd somehow. Had trouble laying it out in a way I was totally happy with.

A mix of all new music, all from 2012. Have a good long weekend–I am going to a music festival at which I know relatively few of the bands. I know, impossible! But hopefully I’ll turn up some cool stuff that I like.
